This cuvée of Château Roland La Garde is a typical wine from the terroirs of Côtes de Blaye. Composed primarily of Merlot and completed with Cabernet Sauvignon it is a very nice easy wine to enjoy and consume up to 10 years.
Varieties : 80% Merlot - 20% Cabernet Sauvignon
Age of the Vines : 20 years old average
Yield: 40 HL/Ha
Grounds : Presence of clay-limestone grounds with clay silt changes to sandy-clay layers.
Vinification : Cold maceration 3 to 5 days before fermentation - Pumping over everyday - Temperature control by thermoregulation - Natural fermentation with natural yeasts.
Aging : 2/3 in barrels for 12 months + 1/3 in vat for 12 months
Tasting Notes : The Cuvée Tradition has a deep and brilliant ruby color. It is a wine with finesse and harmony, good balance and a tannic structure that highlight the aromas of red fruits.
Aging Potential : 5 to 10 years
Tasting Advices : Can be matched with all red meats, French Southwestern dishes and cheese. Can be decanted an hour before tasting. Serve at 16-17°C.
