Bainbridge Cuvee Les Jongleurs

This cuvée is an assemblage of two sites situated on the Coteaux du Layon, where Chenin Blanc has a deep seated tradition. Of the two sites, one is a relatively young vine parcel planted on sandy soils, and the other is a much sunnier site with southern exposure, dominated by quartz. The two sites ripen at their own pace but are harvested simultaneously to find harmony between the acidity and soft creaminess of the variety. A short elevage in concrete makes for a wine of bright, tart character with a textural backbone and well-judged length.
